Presents: "What if the Washington Region Grew Differently?"

The Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments' Transportation Planning Board presents a public forum on alternative land-use scenarios. Please come and participate!

December 8, 2004 (Wednesday) -- 7:30 9:00 PM
Bohrer Park Activity Center
Summit Hill Farm
506 South Frederick Avenue
Gaithersburg MD
  • What if people lived closer to their jobs?
  • What if people lived and worked closer to transit?
  • What if new roads and transit were built?

How would travel conditions change?

On the evening of December 8th, citizens will have a change to learn how different patterns of growth might affect driving, congestion, transit use and quality-of-life in the Washington region.

The region's Transportation Planning Board (TPB) is interested in getting citizen feedback on a current study of land-use and transportation scenarios for the future. Montgomery County Councilmember Michael Knapp, who is also vice-chairman of the TPB, will moderate the session.

The meeting will be hosted by the National Capital Region Transportation Board's Citizen Advisory Committee, chaired by Dennis Joffee.

Everyone is welcome. No RSVP necessary. For more information, please contact TPB staff member John Swanson at 202-962-3295.
